Giving back in Bozeman, MT Giving back to the local community is a part of my everyday life. I’m a firm believer that any contribution, no matter how big or small, whether it is time or money spent, is another opportunity to improve yourself, personally, as well as throughout all aspects of life. Here at Payless Bozeman, we donate to charitable organizations on an annual basis. This year we purchased tickets from the Kiwanis club, a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time. All proceeds go to organizing youth-sports programs, tutoring, pediatric research, and other projects to help children and communities. Trevor Smith
Giving back in Denver, CO I am proud to say that not a day goes by without Payless Denver giving back. We frequently host clothing drives for the homeless, and an ongoing food drive. We require employees to actively participate in these initiatives, but find that it is something they want to participate in. It’s a great time to get to know your employees and what spurs their interest to volunteer. We also are proud to work with the Kids Wish Network is a nationally recognized non-profit organization dedicated to infusing hope, creating happy memories, and improving the quality of life for children. Jean Elliott
Giving back in Newark, NJ Giving back to the local community is a big part of my everyday life. There’s nothing more fulfilling than knowing that one donation could improve or save a life. Giving Back in Ft. Lauderdale, FL We in Ft. Lauderdale do our part in giving back to the community by participating in various golf benefit fundraisers. We find that golf fundraisers not only help various charities and causes, but also provide exercise and are quite fun. I personally golfed my best game in years at the Larry Little Legends Gold Classic benefiting Historic Virginia Key Beach. The Larry Little Legends Gold Classic raises money to help restore Virginia Key Beach to its former glory days. This was the 1st time the event has ever been hosted, but due to a massive turnout (not to mention my great game); this event will be held for many years to come. Rodney Johnson

There are many benefits to donating cars, it’s hassle-free, much easier than fixing, advertising, and selling your car, plus you save the cost of maintaining a car you don't use. Another way we give back is by organizing various fund raisers for Guam’s Chapter of the American Cancer Society. Ricky Sanchez

Giving Back in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic We at Payless realize that we have many opportunities to help our community especially when experiencing difficult times. Our country has fallen victim to a number of natural disasters, such as flooding. Payless Santo Domingo has established a foundation called “All God’s Children” and is in the process of registering the foundation with the Government. This will enable the foundation to receive tax-free contributions. We have adopted a small ex-sugar cane village, taking food and clothes to the village on Saturdays. During the holidays many small toys are delivered to the children of the village. Perhaps our most important contribution was having a doctor accompany us to the village to perform exams and administer some medications. We feel that we are really making a difference in our community. Gary Witkowski

Gonzalo Vargas Giving Back in St. Maarten, Netherland Antilles It brings us great pleasure to offer discounted car rental rates when overseas doctors visit the island to assist the Mental Health Foundation. We were involved in a bike-a-thon to raise funds for the St. Dominic Primary School, where a Payless truck was used to pick up cyclists who could not complete the ride. We also receive requests from local churches, schools, and the Carnival Committee on the island. We show our appreciation by extending transportation or a vehicle to support the event. Satesh Hemraj
Giving Back in Montreal and Toronto, Canada In Canada, we believe that the Salvation Army is a worthwhile organization, and we have created a program to make regular donations. We keep a donation box in the rental office, and encourage all staff to periodically go through their closets and donate items that they do not use any more or are planning on throwing out. We also allow customers the opportunity to drop items they don’t need anymore into the donation box. Every two to three months, after the box is full, we deliver the donated items to the Salvation Army. We feel that initiating the Salvation Army donation project has been a worthwhile cause. Winters in Canada are very cold, and donated coats and other cold weather accessories have helped many people who would otherwise not have been able to afford them. Our staff feels a sense of pride in giving back to the community and helping others. Arti & Raj Sood
